A Jedi Knight appointed to serve as the Watchman of Kashyyyk during the Clone Wars, replacing Jedi Master Yoda, who had agreed to become a military leader for the Old Republic. Although Senator Yarua was unconvinced that the Wookiees should remain loyal to the Republic, Kai Justiss believed that they would. Justiss later joined Jedi Master Tsui Choi in a mission to Drongar, where they were captured by Count Dooku and held briefly. Dooku let the Jedi return to Coruscant, but ordered his forces to eliminate any clone troopers aboard the ship. In the wake of the Clone Wars, Justiss was one of a small number of Jedi Knights who managed to escape the Jedi Purge. Justiss remained free for only a short period of time, and was eventually betrayed to the Crimson Nova bounty hunters by farmers on Garqi.
